We fell head over heels for this incredibly powerful Swedish-designed Ankarsrum stand mixer, which mixes doughs better than any we've tried before. This mixer has been made (and beloved!) in Sweden since 1940. The unique design is reminiscent of a professional spiral mixer: Large, stable base (no rocking!), and wide bowl (easy to add ingredients and watch your batters and doughs come together). Strong and robust, our breads rose higher and had better texture when mixed with this appliance. Although it's excellent for breads and ideal for the bakers who plan to mix heavier doughs and yeasted breads, it's also versatile and performs all the great functions of any other standard stand mixer.
